Two Minute Drill: Failure
What’s up Kaizenovators, happy Tuesday Two Minute Drill. Today’s topic of conversation is failure which is inspired by one of my personal experiences. About seven or eight years ago, I was speaking at the ACA’s National Chiropractic Legislative Conference. It was on a Sunday at 9:00 AM and do you know how many people showed up to that class? Nobody!
Learn From Your Failures
I got up this morning, I’m at the Texas chiropractic association at the Chiro Texpo event. I spoke today, with my good friend Brad Cost. We had a great time and a great crowd.
This morning, I saw the stadium when I looked out the window and I was like, man, Minor Leagues and that brought me back to a point in my career about seven, or eight years ago when I was speaking at the ACA National Chiropractic Legislative Conference. It was on a Sunday at 9:00 AM and nobody showed up to that class. That was a pretty lonely feeling. It was a feeling of complete and utter failure. Nobody knew who I was and my brand didn’t matter. Nobody cared what I was talking about.
I learned how to use that day and that experience to try and hone my speaking skills, my relationship skills, my marketing skills, and my writing skills. So, at some point in my career, hopefully, people would want to at least hear what I have to say, even if they didn’t like or agree with it.
I’m here at this event and I just think about all the hard work that was put in to get me to this point so far in my career, and also all the hard work that I have ahead of me to be, as my good friend, Jeff Lesher would say “even better”.
So, it’s been an incredible journey and I just want you to know that when you fail and you’ve got those lonely moments, think about what you can learn from it and then take action, and when you do good things will happen.
That’s this week’s Two Minute Drill, have a great week.
