Two Minute Drill: Time is Ticking
What’s up Kaizenovators, happy Tuesday Two Minute Drill! Today I’m coming to you from Long Beach, California, just kind of hanging out at this little harbor and taping my two-minute drill. Today’s topic of conversation is time. Specifically, time off.
Time Off
I’m here in Long Beach, California, just kind of hanging out, taping my two-minute drill. I’m staying at the Hyatt and just past the Hyatt, is where my parents are, where their apartment is, where they are living in Long Beach, California.
So, I decided I was going to take some time off, come out and visit them and my sister and my brother-in-law and their baby girl, who is my baby niece, who I love all of them dearly. And I will tell you that it’s so important to plan for just time off because we get so busy doing what we do every day, all day, literally for me, at least every day, most of the day working that you just have to plan for time off and let yourself have some fun.
Yesterday, my mom said to me “It was like yesterday when I had my 50th birthday, and I don’t know what happened, but now I’m 83, almost 84”. I resonated with that. I understood that because time is flying. If we don’t literally stop and take some time that we can enjoy our lives and enjoy family and friends and loved ones, what’s the point?
So, my message to you is, to plan for some time off, go have some fun, let loose, do new things, try new things, have new experiences, and then share with me and share with us what you did. That’s this week’s two-minute drill.
And by the way, happy International Women’s Day. Here’s a shout-out to all the ladies out there. We need to continue to fight for equality, equal pay for equal work.
So happy International Women’s Day and take some time off. See you all next week.
