Two Minute Drill: Innovation with Purpose

What’s up Kaizenovators, happy Tuesday Two Minute Drill! Today I am coming to you from downtown Annapolis. And Today’s topic of conversation is all about innovation with purpose.

Nourish and Bloom

If you’re ever in this region, you got to check this place out because it’s just super fun and super cool. A great area to hang out, have some good seafood, eat some Maryland crabs, and enjoy yourself.

Last week, I saw a really cool news feature around a company called Nourish and Bloom. This company is the first black-owned autonomous grocery store in the country. Why is that important? Well, they created this company because their son has autism and they wanted to find ways where they could easily find healthy foods that were available and convenient. So, they built this store that’s completely autonomous.

You walk in and you scan your phone, all of your payment information is already inside their app and you go. You pick out the foods that you want, all healthy selections and you walk out the door. This is really helping to transform the community that they live in because they’re providing a convenient and easily accessible way for people to eat healthy food.

I think about innovation with purpose all the time. That’s why we built our technology company. But I want to challenge you to think about what you’re doing to create innovation with purpose, in your own practices, and in your own lives. How can you better support your patients? What are they looking for? How can you better support your referral sources? How can you better support your employees? It’s all about creating innovation with purpose.

And I will tell you that this company Nourish and Bloom, you’re going to see a lot of these people. They’ve got a franchise opportunity. I guarantee you; this company is going to grow. I certainly want to do everything I can to support them. They’re doing great things to support their community. And that’s what innovation with purpose is all about.

That’s This week’s two-minute drill. Have a great week. See you all next week!
